Inaugural meeting Wednesday 17th May 2023 – 10.00am – 12.00pm
The group has been established to provide support to men diagnosed with various cancers, to share common experiences and raise awareness of cancer in a safe and confidential environment.
Open discussions (informal and facilitated) where men can share their experiences of coping with diagnosis, treatment, side effects and getting on with life after treatment.
Our policy of confidentiality encourages open and frank discussion on issues for men with cancer which can include first-hand personal experiences of treatments and possible outcomes in areas that may otherwise be difficult to discuss.
These group meetings are facilitated by Bob Carnaby (GNLALC member). Bob has no medical training but does have experience at the receiving end of cancer treatments, is empathetic and willing to chat about shared experiences.
Meetings will be held at the Grafton Ngerrie Local Aboriginal Land Council, 50 Wharf Street, Grafton NSW 2460
Servicing the wider communities of Gumbaynggirr, Bundjalung, and Yaegl Lands.
