Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) welcomes the Federal Opposition's announcement to reduce costs for all patients with cancer in Australia.
The $2.3 billion Medicare Cancer plan proposes to reduce costs for all patients from the time of their initial diagnosis.
PCFA National Chairman Steve Callister said that "the possibility of free scans, free consultations and cheaper medicines would be beneficial to all, including men and their families effected now by out-of-pocket costs for specialty treatments."
Relieving patients and their families of the financial burden, especially in country and regional areas, will allow them to gain immediate care and concentrate on their health.
PCFA continually speaks with representatives of all political parties on, particularly with the "Parliamentary Friends of Prostate Cancer", to explore all possibilities to improve outcomes for all those affected by Prostate Cancer.
