Aussie men are set to benefit from a cheeky new footy tap campaign to raise prostate cancer awareness nationwide.
The campaign will run throughout footy final season, with TAB set to donate $100 for every bum tap across all footy codes during premiership games.
The initiative is a joint campaign with all proceeds to Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA). The goal is to raise $100,000 by the final siren on Sunday October 6.
"With September being Prostate Cancer Awareness month, we're thrilled to be able to partner with PCFA to raise funds and bring awareness around the importance of men getting checked in such an engaging and fun way," said Tabcorp Executive General Manager Marketing and Customer - Wagering and Media Luke Waldren.
"People all around the country will be watching the footy finals and we hope that with each tap on the behind that happens on the field a conversation can be sparked at home and men over 50 are taking the important step of making an appointment with their GP.
"And to be able to raise funds to donate to the PCFA at the end of the campaign is obviously a great source of pride for TAB as a whole."
PCFA CEO, Professor Jeff Dunn AO, welcomed the campaign.
"Prostate cancer is one of the major challenges facing men's health in Australia.
"One in seven Australian men will be diagnosed in their lifetime, over 3500 will die of the disease this year, and there are 200,000 Aussie blokes who are living with a previous diagnosis.
"The Tap Initiative is a game-changer – our aim is to raise awareness and vital funds to help beat prostate cancer and better support men, their partners, and their families.
"We are proud to be working together to win the game against prostate cancer this September."
The TAB Tap Initiative campaign will run from 5th September until 6th October 2019 and donations can be made directly to PCFA here.
