The Institute for Resilient Regions (IRR) at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) is offering a scholarship for a domestic student studying, or commencing the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2018. The PhD stipend scholarship is funded by the Centre for Research Excellence (CRE) in Prostate Cancer Survivorship (led by Griffith University and in partnership with Professor Jeff Dunn at USQ). It also aligns with the IRR project “Surviving Prostate Cancer in Regional Australia’, a partnership between USQ and the Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia.
The project aims to use technology as a means for improving survivorship of men with prostate cancer in regional and remote areas of Australia. The project will develop and trial technology-based interventions (e.g. Tele-Health, EHealth, Online Communities) that can be delivered remotely to enhance care and support for, or improve quality of life of, men living with prostate cancer in regional and remote areas. The specific project details and scope will be determined by the supervisory team, including lead CRE investigator Professor Jeff Dunn, Associate Professor Sonja March and the successful applicant.
