Subway® Restaurants around the nation are fundraising for Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and tens of thousands of dollars have already been donated by Subway® customers. In fact, by Christmas, the figure will be close to $100K!
"Baseball Cap" money-boxes have been designed and manufactured in South Australia in conjunction with Subway®, to meet Subway® owner's requirements. They carry a PCFA awareness message and a big 'Thank you'. Donations come in all shapes and sizes, from 5 cents to $50 notes! The money-boxes hold around $100 but with a few notes can easily yield $150!
The money-boxes are on the counter, adjacent to the till. They were delivered with background on PCFA and advice on prostate cancer, so Subway® staff is informed on the cause.
A dedicated team of volunteers and PCFA staff clear the boxes in SA and WA. In metropolitan Melbourne, the World Police & Fire Games Club fire-fighters have been recruited to collect. Usually collections are made every three to four weeks but sometimes boxes fill up even quicker and a dash has to be made to the store out of the cycle so full money-boxes are not left on the counter, with customers unable to donate their change. A store in Calder Park in Victoria recently filled its box in 10 days!
