David Sandoe OAM, National Chairman and Dr Anthony Lowe, CEO of PCFA were recently presented a Bronze Award at the 63rd Australasian Reporting Awards Presentation Dinner at the Melbourne Town Hall on Thursday, 6 June 2013. PCFA was also a finalist in the Special Awards Category – Communication Award, Not-for-Profit Sector.
The Awards, run by Australasian Reporting Awards Limited, provide an opportunity for organisations to benchmark their annual reports against the ARA criteria and are open to all organisations that produce an annual report.
The General Awards, which is the category PCFA was in, are a measure of the standard achieved – they are not a competition. The Report of the Year and Special Awards are competitive.
The ARA was established in 1950 to improve the standards of financial reporting in Australia by a group of leading business people.
This is the first time PCFA has entered the Awards and is a wonderful acknowledgement for us as the organisation moves to consolidating its position as the peak national body for prostate cancer in Australia and is a credit to the rigorous governance structures of the organisation.
In addition to receiving the award, PCFA also has the opportunity to receive constructive advice from the ARA on how to enhance its reporting, benchmarked against the ARA criteria and incumbent winners and past awardees.
