Gary Dowsett was diagnosed with prostate cancer at age 55. At the time he was surprised by the lack of information available to gay men diagnosed with the disease. In this article he speaks candidly to Jill Margo from the Australian Financial Review about his diagnosis and the issues that are specific to gay men and other homosexually active men.
Gary is working in partnership with PCFA to ensure the needs of gay men diagnosed with prostate cancer are met and is also focussing one of his research projects on gay men living with prostate cancer.
